Yi-Ting Chen

Violinist Yi-Ting Chen, a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, received her Artist Diploma and Master of Music degrees from the Yale University School of Music. She attended Juilliard Pre-Colloege in her early music studies. At age 16, she was the youngest to receive Taiwan's most prestigious scholarship from the Chimei Foundation. She has spent recent summers as a full scholarship recipient at the Music Academy of West, Santa Barbara, California.

Yi-Ting has won many awards including Eastman School of Music Concerto competition, and two times winner of the Chamber Honors Competition. While she was at Juilliard, she won the contemporary music competition and her ensemble was selected to perform at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center.

Yi-Ting performed at the MMCK International Music Festival in Japn, Kneisel Hall Chamber Festival in Minnesota and many other festivals in Belgium and Austria. As achamber musician, she has worked closely with the Tokyo Quartet, Juilliard Quartet, The Ying Quartet, Borromeo Quartet, Brentano Quartet, Yeesun Kim and Zvi Zeitlin. Yi-Ting served as concertmaster for the Julliard Pre-College Symphony Orchestra, Eastman Symphony Orchestra, Yale Philharmonia Orchestra and Yale Opera. Active in both orchestra and chamber music, she was invited to be on tour in Japan with Elements Quartett, a group with great interest in bringing new music to all communities.
