MDT Dance Camp
Performing Arts and Academic Camp
Ages 3-6, 6/22-7/11, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-12:00 noon
A unique, 3-week summer program, combining academics, introduction to music and dance, as well as the opportunity to join the cast of Alice in Wonderland and perform at the Star Performing Arts Center in Fountain Valley, on Friday July 10 and Saturday July 11. Students will be separated into two groups (ages 3-4 and ages 5-6) for their respective academic music and dance lessons, but will be combined for rehearsals for their performance. Ages 7-10, 6/22-7/11, Monday-Friday, 12:00noon – 5:00pm
Ages 11-13, 6/22-7/11, Monday-Friday, 1:00pm – 5:00pm Ages 14+, 6/22-7/11, Monday-Friday, 4:00pm – 8:30pm For 3 weeks, dancers will receive intensive training in ballet technique, pointe and variations, along with master classes in Jazz, Modern, improve, aerial acrobat, stretch and strengthen. Dancers will also have daily rehearsals for joining the cast of Alice in Wonderland to perform at the Star Performing Arts Center in Fountain Valley, on Friday July 10 and Saturday July 11. High school students may choose to enroll in a 2-week intensive SAT test prep course (6/22-7/3, 1:00pm-4:00pm) during the dance camp at the same location. A $500 scholarship for the SAT test prep course is available for qualified dancers. Dance Camp Cost: $495.00 SAT Test Prep Workshop Designed for Grades 10-12 high school students, this is a 2-week intensive SAT Reasoning test preparation course with Session #1 running concurrently with the dance camp at the same location. This is a condensed version of a very effective year-round program that has helped many high school students gain 300-600+ points on their test scores. The course begins with extensive lecture/review of math concepts and grammar, as well as techniques in speed reading, vocabulary building and essay writing. These skills will help students improve SAT test scores and enhance the overall effectiveness of learning at school; it provides a summary of test taking techniques from all major SAT test prep curricula.
